The fluidity, undulating lines, and colors of water will be everywhere apparent in The Loading Dock Gallery at Western Avenue Studios during the 2008 Lowell Quilt Festival. The Loading Dock Gallery’s August show, Fluid Blue – Fabric Art, will feature the work of mother-daughter team Ann Lee and Sonja Lee-Austin. The show’s theme grew from Sonja’s exploration of water themes in her fiber art and the fluidity of a jacket Ann created from a vintage damask tablecloth. Ann and Sonja have challenged themselves to establish connections between the wearable and wall art by sharing fabrics. They are trading fabrics made individually as well as creating fabrics together. This process brings cohesion to the exhibit and gives joy to the team as they work.
The opening reception will be held Saturday night, August 9 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The
